Three-Way Approach

Three-Way Approach

To foster a collaborative educational environment, we organize various activities that engage all three key partners: parents, teachers, and students. These activities create opportunities for active participation and mutual learning among all members of the educational system. These activities may include parent-teacher conferences, workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions.
At MUKABBIR School, we believe that parents and guardians are key stakeholders in their children’s learning and thus organise regular Parent-Teacher Meetings. Discussions between parents and teachers are especially encouraged and help keep parents updated on their child’s progress.

Three-Way Conference

We organize Three-Way Conferences throughout the year to update parents about their child’s progress. These conferences consist of parent-teacher meetings as well as student-led sessions. After each conference, parents have the opportunity to explore the school and its facilities. During the student-led conference, students present their portfolios. This portfolio demonstrates the selected work that serves as evidence of the student’s growth during a specific period. It is a celebration of the student’s achievements and includes drafts, reflections, and completed projects from each unit of study.

Scheduled conferences are held throughout the year to inform parents of their child’s progress. These include parent-teacher conferences and student-led conferences. Parents are expected to attend all conferences. Opportunities will be given at the end of each conference, for parents to tour the school and its facilities.
During the student-led conference, learners will share their portfolio. The portfolio contains work selected by the student and teacher as evidence of the student’s growth over a particular period. It is a celebration of the learner’s success and contains a combination of drafts, reflections and finished products from each unit of inquiry. At the end of the academic year the students will take their portfolios home.
Written reports, which show students’ progress across all major subject areas, are emailed to parents at the end of each semester. Printed copies are available upon request.

Parent-Teacher Meetings

Parent-Teacher meetings are regularly conducted at Mukabbir School, forming an integral component of our comprehensive three-way approach. These meetings serve as a vital platform for effective communication and collaboration between parents and teachers. In addition to fostering a strong parent-teacher partnership, these meetings facilitate a deeper understanding of students’ progress and create opportunities for personalized support and guidance. The active involvement of parents in these meetings reinforces the holistic development and academic success of our students.

• Parenting Session:

These are specialized sessions designed to provide parents with valuable guidance on raising children. These sessions also aim to address the challenges that children might face, including but not limited to feelings of sadness, anxiety, behavioral issues, or struggles with family and peer interactions. These sessions encourage a supportive environment where parents can connect with other caregivers who may be facing similar concerns, creating a sense of community and shared understanding.

• Mystery Reader

The Mystery Reader event forms an essential part of our curriculum’s three-way approach, where we frequently extend invitations to students’ family members to pleasantly surprise their children by either reading a book or sharing an engaging story. This interactive session not only fosters a love for literature but also strengthens the bond between families and our educational community. By incorporating diverse perspectives and voices, we aim to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that nurtures a lifelong passion for reading.
